Jyrel was born and raised in Waterbury. He attended West Side Middle/ Kaynor Tech.

After graduating highschool he went on to Naugatuck Valley Community College where he graduated with an Associates in Political Science. He joined RACCE because he believes the children of Waterbury are being shortchanged and deserve to receive a quality education with up to date resources and tools to help them succeed.
